Gareth Edwards Optometrist began in 2006 as one practice in Toowoomba and has since expanded to include two other locations, Millmerran and Oakey
Our belief is simple - early detection, quality products and giving back to the community wherever possible. We strive to give our customers the best possible care and exactly what they need to ensure their eye health is performing its best.
Our aim is to make sure you leave our practice feeling confident in your eyesight’s performance and health. We co-manage your eye health through our comprehensive detection and treatment processes.

Meet Our Team
Dr Gareth Edwards
Optometrist
Gareth opened his first practice in the heart of Toowoomba City in 2006 after several years of locum, working in practices throughout Queensland and New South Wales. He completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) in 2000 and a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics.
Providing patients with the care and products they need as well as sound advice is more than enough.
Gareth involves himself in a number of community support projects and is an active committee member for the 2nd Toowoomba Scouts. In his downtime, Gareth enjoys kayaking and camping with his family.
Dr Mark Philp
Optometrist
Mark completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) degree from QUT in 2000 and is certified to prescribe ocular medications. He has worked in Port Macquarie, Tamworth and Armidale before moving locally and joining our team in 2023. Mark lives with his wife and two daughters.
When not working Mark enjoys listening to music, cooking, and reading. He also likes to follow developments in electric vehicle technology and enjoys driving one.
